Morijo Integrated Pastoralist Peace Programme
Is an new ngo born in 2008 with the aim to bring and to keep the peace among 3 tribes in the north part of Kenya. Morijo is a small centre in Kirisia Division, Samburu District, Rift Valley Province. Morijo is situated to the northern part of Kenya and it boarders Marti to the north, Maralal tow to the south (district Headquarters), suguta Valley (in the great Rift valley ) to the west and Barsaloi to the East. Morijo community comprises of a variety of tribes mostly of mitotic origin and few Bantus and Cushitic speaking minority. The population ranges to about 10,000 people that is sparsely populated over the area. This area is considered to be Arid and Semi arid lands (ASAL) OF THE NORTHERN Kenya frontier districts. The people living in morijo are mostly Samburu, Turkana in Marti and the Pokot in Malaso area. The pokot are to the south-west of morijo, turkana to the north at a twenty kilometers distance from morijo centre. All these ethnic communities are pastoralist and their only way of life is dependent solely on the livestock and their livelihood depends on cattle’s.

The aim is to pursue sole purpose of social solidarity with the objectives:to inform and to raise awareness about the reality and the problems of developing countries;to promote initiatives in favor of populations and territories in situations of need; to cooperate and to promote the knowledge and the awareness of peoples and realities of developing countries, proposing also to support their development starting from the territories of Kenya, where Father Aldo Vettori operated;to collect all kinds of resources to support projects and activities of the Community Samburu in Kenya in which Father Aldo Vettori operated (the mission is located north of Kenya at 2070 meters above sea level near the town of Maralal and covers 15 centers within a radius of 50 sq km); to cooperate with the Mission founded by Father Aldo for the progress of the tribes in Samburu district of northern Kenya; to raise funds, including through the adoption of the formula at a distance, to support the education of children of the communities where the right to education is not guaranteed; to support volunteers, including members of the association, who go abroad for initiatives of cooperation and solidarity. Currently we operate in Kenya, Peru, Bangladesh, Ukraine and in the Palestinian Territories (in Bethlehem).

Eurogems is a non-profit organization born in 2005 from Treviso, north -east of Italy, member of Anna Lindh Foundation and Council Europe (CoE). Its aims are to manage activities in which youngsters and adults can meet themselves, know each other and socialize for civil society empowerment. Key activities are: vocational training, integrations, consultancies, active integration of people with different abilities and social inclusion, human promotion and integration of immigrants in the local community. It promotes ITC and Multimedia. It is very active in the frame of integration of disadvantaged groups involving the main stakeholders of the local community for valorisation and dissemination of European best practices through visits, seminars, forum, conferences, newsletters. It manages socio-cultural international projects and exchanges of Youth in Action, LLP and EUROMED and Leonardo mobilities.
